5 Methods To Keep Feet Healthy For Better Mobility


Feet are super easy to neglect — but it really pays dividends after you take care of them. As we age, chronic foot pain and common foot problems (like tendinitis, bunions, and arthritis) can increasingly limit mobility.

But choosing a few simple measures to care for your toes can help you preserve — or maybe improve — your mobility. Here are five in our favorites.

1. Maintain a healthy weight. Being overweight affects you by putting greater force with them with each step. Use a pumice stone or foot file to carefully remove calluses. If you wear nail polish on the toes, maintain the nails healthy by allowing them "breathe" to get a couple of days when you finally remove it and before adding more.

5. Stretch your toes. People don't usually take into consideration stretching the tops and bottoms with their feet, but stretches can assist you treat — and stop — foot pain. Stretches to the Achilles' tendon are important.
